This is a great jacket and it is 100 % merino wool. I noticed smartwool also has some jackets on STP although less wool content somewhere between 2/3 to 3/4 maybe? I would be interested in a comparison on warmth if anyone has any input as i am contemplating a second wool jacket.

I'm not sure whe... Read More

I love this jacket, it is lightweight, warm, attractive and soft inside- no itch.

The one problem I have with it is it is pretty slim fitting- I am 5'8", 135# and it is snug at my tummy.

I have three versions of the Cascade, the half zip, this full zip and also the hooded jacket in three different colors and I love them all! They are the first things I grab when I'm freezing, and nothing else, no other sweater can compare. If you layer a light wind breaking running jacket over it, you can go running when it's less than 10 degrees F. and still be toasty warm, but I also wear it just lounging about. I didn't have any problems with the zipper like other reviewers did. Maybe that was a bad batch. My zippers are great. Also, I love that the sleeves are long enough for me; I'm 5'9" with long arms. I think Icebreaker is geared towards taller women, and I'm grateful! I weigh 140, and the medium is perfect.

These are great jackets. I bought 3. I kept the green & pink ones. The teal had to go back, the sizing was off. The green and pink fit true to size. I wear IB small, and they fit comfortably and cozy. The zipper works smoothly. I wear this first thing in the morning during the winter to take off the morning chill while I make my french press. Keeps me warm in my chilly unheated house. My new friend! The colors are bright and cheerful. The hand pockets are a great addition to this jacket. I've not used the upper arm pocket yet, but it looks stylish.

  • Question “Is this washable”
Asked on 2/19/2015 6:23:13 AM by Sue from NJ
    • Answer Yes! I accidentally splashed a stain on my brand new green IB 260 Cascade jacket the same week I bought it. Ouch! I sprayed the stain with spray 'n wash, and tossed it in the washer with the rest of my clothing on cold water wash/rinse. Hung it on a hanger to dry, and it came out good as new. I never put my Icebreaker in the dryer, just as the tag says.

    • Answer Thanks. Good to know
Answered on 2/19/2015 7:30:32 AM by Sue from NJ
    • Answer If you wash it in cold water and then line dry, it will always look like new. Don't put it in the dryer.
Answered on 2/19/2015 11:31:11 AM by Susie from NYC
    • Answer Yes it is washable. I machine wash it regularly. I now have four. Two new ones and two which are about 18 months old. I wear them every day in winter.

    • Answer I ordered the bright green Cascade Jacket and it is exactly the color that is shown.
Answered on 1/1/2014 7:44:20 PM by Philliesnut from Kansas
    • Answer It is more of a fuchsia than a red. There is a pattern within the fuchsia which is difficult to see but it is there, it is a swirl of a slightly darker fuchsia. It is a nice contrast. By the way only the inside of the collar is the cherub color

    • Answer Only the inside of the collar is cherub . It's a nice contrast
Answered on 1/2/2014 9:14:50 AM by Desert hiker from arizona
    • Answer The inside of the collar and there is a very small logo tag (appox. 1'x1') sewn on the hem below the left hand pocket.

    • Answer I think the color I got is Panther/Cerise - it's dark grey outside and dark pink lining the collar - but whatever it is, the dark pink color is indeed on the inside of the collar only. (I thought it would be more places.) Presumably it would be the same for Panther/Cherub.

    • Answer Nope, it fits true to size. However, it is definitely Trim fit, not Classic fit the way STP describes it. Expect it to cling to your curves!

    • Answer Yes this jacket runs small. The sleeve and body length is generous but the jacket is slim fitting. I would size up one size.
Answered on 12/31/2013 8:36:33 AM by Madskier from Seattle
    • Answer The jacket is a slim fit as it is meant to be a base layer. I wear mine as outerwear, not base layer, so wanted something a little looser fitting so ordered a size up. I normally wear a medium but got this in a large, now I can actually wear something under it.
Answered on 12/31/2013 10:34:49 AM by Desert hiker from Arizona
    • Answer No it runs about average, which for icebreaker is larger than normal. All the more recent icebreaker clothing I have bought has been slightly larger than their previous items. That being said they do not run large by any means.
