I doubt I will ever need the waist gaiter so all it really does is bunch up inside the pants when it is tucked away. It would be nice if there were some snaps that it could button down to to keep low profile. Aside from that issue, the pants are great! Water proof, plenty of pockets that close securely. I like the feature to pull the pant legs up so they do not get muddy walking back to the car. Waist adjustments from inside. You name it, these pants have it.
