My husband has only tested the down pants on a short hike in sub zero temps and seems happy with them. The design is well thought out and should be warm enough as an expediton pant. The lower part of the legs have less down intentionally which seemed strange at first but may be so that gaitors will fit around the lower leg with ease. Overall a geat pant.

Was too warm for Mount Whitney in January (-10 without wind). Great for walking around camp, but simply too warm during ascent. These pants seem to be made for -20 or lower. They do have side zips that open up 1.5 feet for ventilation, but they are still extremely warm. They have great construction, are very light, and have a small stuff sack for compact storage in your pack. Fit: I am a 31-32 and the Large fits perfectly.

got a fantastic STP deal. warm, typical MH quality. The bib is a stretchy neoprene material that i am not sure if I like or not. Think I prefer thicker goretex or similar material. Also, is a size regular and at 6"3" a long would be better.
