This is my second pair of wallawalla hiking boots. They fit great, are very comfortable
on long hikes and don't look like clunky hiking shoes.
My first pair held up well and am very happy with
these.

I hope that will be the waterproof (previous review).

I hike all over St. Lucia in these boots and they felt great. The front toe mesh does let water in. They are solid and held up very well against the volcanic rock. Order a half size larger if you use inserts.

These WallaWalla boots are comfortable and lightweight with good support but run a half size small and are not waterproof...even if your walking through a dew soaked yard your socks will get wet...its just not waterproof...or very water resistant...use scotchguard for shoes to help prevent the water from seeping through the toebox...that's where the water mostly penetrates.

I ordered these in anticipation of a trip to Vietnam where we will be building houses in the Mekong Delta. I wanted something lightweight but rugged enough to survive carrying building supplies along a trail to the build site. After two days of wearing them in the 90+ degree heat wave we are having at home I can say that they are very comfortable - with wool socks. I wore them for a few hours with cotton socks and they didn't feel very good - switched to a wool blend sock and it was much more comfortable. Maybe when I return from my trip I can add additional insight.

I haven't taken any major hikes in these boots thus far but find them very comfortable in wearing them around my neighborhood. I will be putting them through their paces as the summer progresses, culminating with a climb up Mount Katahdin in Baxter State Park, Maine, in September. I'll report back.
