Really like this jacket. Although it is not interchange compatible, it still fits great over my ballistic fleece for the low 20ºF Nights. But still fits just right on the high 60ºF drizzle days. The stand uo collar is tall enough to cover my chin and the inside of outer pockets feels great. I wil... Read More

The last one that I bought was in 2000, and it lasted 14 years and 10 seasons of racing my sailboat in foul weather. It was my #1 foul weather gear for racing on the water.

The last one that I bought just like this one was 14 years ago and used it for 11 seasons of racing my sailboat from April to October.

Like most Columbia garments, this is a quality jacket. However, the medium size, which I normally wear, was too tight through the chest, waist and hips. I returned it for a large, which is just right with or without a sweater underneath. As the description implies, this is definitely a cool weather jacket. I wore it first in a mid-seventies temperature and light rain, and it was too warm for extended hiking, even with pit zips open. If you need a waterproof windbreaker for cool/cold wet weather, this is a good choice.

Sleeves run a little long on the extra tall but not so long as to offset the additional coverage on the waist. Good jacket for rain and warm without being too hot.

I really like Omni Heat for cooler out of doors times. This also doubles as rainwear. My friend showed up with the green one in Portugal in the Spring. We were at sea up to 12 hours and in some weather. He was not only warm but dry. The coat was stylish and as soon as I returned I got the Yellow one. I like the fact that it works as a shell and will likely give it some duty on the ski slopes this Winter. Great fit, nice styling and versatile utility.
