Warm yet breathable. Low rise so they tend to fit a little shorter in the inseams than other Columbia pants. If in doubt, get the longer inseam.

Bought these as a gift. He loves them. Uses them to cross-country ski. Have to wear gaiters. Very comfortable and great for our very frigid winter
    weather this year.

I loved the first set of these pants that I purchased; they were perfect for the unusually cold weather this winter while looking a bit dressier than my other lined pants and I could comfortably cycle to work in 20 degree weather - when the roads weren't buried in snow and ice. I jumped at a chance to order another pair when they went on sale again but the waist on the second pair was about 4 inches smaller than my first pair and from the size on the label. I had to return them and won't be taking my chances on another pair that might be some other random size. My experience might have been unusual but it looks like a 50 - 50 chance that they'll be labeled correctly.

Very light and comfortable. Size is correct. Only downside the color. That would be great if there are more colors instead of just the black.
