They have an adjustable waist, with velcro, that you can set and then use the zip/snap fly to take them on and off. They have been very warm even on below-zero ski days; haven't been tested in high winds yet. There have reinforcement patches for between ski boots. The color is a charcoal gray which is perfectly fine for girls as well as boys.
