Purchased for my wife. The materials, construction and design are exceptional. This is my first purchase of a Haglofs product and I'm very surprised at how well it is made. The pack is extremely well built utilizing very durable materials. Zippers glide with ease and no snagging. Zipper tabs grip easily and opening/closing is effortless. The buckles are bombproof and I have no hesitation when cinching the compression straps tightly; I've used some packs where I was very reluctant to tighten the compression straps with much force - the buckles seemed weak from the designer's attempt to shed weight - not so with this pack. The bottom edges around the frame points are reinforced with what appears to be synthetic leather/rubber which will prevent those high impact points from fraying/tearing; another well thought out design point. Gussets in the side pockets means you can actually use them when the pack is filled. There's nothing more irritating than trying to squeeze a small object into an empty outer pocket because the interior is full. Haglofs recognized this and avoided that mistake. The suspension system is a cinch to adjust and stays put. It is highly adjustable and will fit a wide range of torso lengths. The compression straps have a sewn in velcro strip that allows one to roll up the excess material to prevent drag, snag, and sloppy packing (I wish every pack I own had this feature). The sleeping bag compartment is roomy enough for a bag and pad (folded and rolled) which was unexpected for this size pack. Also, the main compartment is much roomier than anticipated for a 50 L pack.

We use mostly light to ultra-light gear when backpacking and I think this pack will do well on a 2-5 day trip, including my wife's photography equipment (bulky DSLR and alternate lenses)

My critiques: (1) The material on the shoulder straps/belt/back panel seem as if breathability might be an issue. The padding is sufficient, but a better material could have been used on the contact points. (2) The waist belt has no accessory pockets. While this is a point of personal preference, it seems to be the new trend on this style of pack and Haglofs should get on board. The weight added is minimal for the gain in utility (ever stowed gorp or granola bar in a hot pants pocket?). (3) The hydration sleeve in the main compartment seems very tight and it will be a challenge to fit a 2 L reservoir in there. I like what Osprey has done with the hydration pocket being BETWEEN the pack and the suspension system. More manufacturers should consider this design.

My bottom line: extremely happy with the obvious quality with which this back was constructed and designed. I am very excited to see how this fairs on the trail (perhaps even more so than my wife, the end user). I will certainly look to Haglofs for future pack/gear searches.
