Warm AND cool, you ask? Why yes. These socks keep your feet warm in cool temperatures, but let them breathe in warm temperatures or while working out. I love Smartwool socks, but this exact brand (PhD Outdoor Light Micro) might just be the best sock I've ever worn. They're not ideal for cold winters when you want something thicker and taller, but if you're just walking to the car and spending the day inside, they will be good for winter as well. A little padding in the back never hurt, either. I wish STP had these for $6 per pair like they used to.

Great socks for low hiking shoes. Wool keeps you warm in winter and cool in summer.

These light weight below the ankle socks are perfect for summer and wearing around the house. I wear them while walking my dogs and my feet don't get too hot. Even though they are Merino wool, they are soft and non scratchy. What I especially like about this style is that the socks hug the ankle and don't slide down. I would have preferred the beige color but they were not available. These socks as well as most of the other SmartWool socks I've purchased are of high quality. I did not see why these socks were rated as "seconds".

These socks are true to SmartWool's quality and comfort. They don't have the looped inside material which is a plus.I like wearing these in the summer. They stay in place around the ankle and don't slide down like my cotton socks do.
I've been sold on SmartWool for a long time. Great price. I don't see any flaws.
