The hood is way more practical that I thought it might be and I use it a lot in chilly weather. THe Smartwool top is not itchy at all, breathes well, and looks great on its own....in fact I have it on right now. With the hood up, I am surely mistaken for an Olympic speed skater I think not)!

This top is figure flattering and soft enough to be the base layer it sets out to be while providing the supreme comfort of merino. I love the thumb holes and half zip. The paneling adds to the overall comfort and ease of movement. I'm 5'8, 130 and the small fits perfectly (though at 1st I thought it tight across my tummy 'pooch', it let up during the course of the day just skims over the belly. Wish it came in more colors!

Luved* this so much, I bought 2 as gifts for friends and a 2nd for me. Can't beat the Sierra Trading Post deal flyer emails to get this at a SCREAMING DEAL. Great price. Love the easy return policy with STP. I must be a VIP by now ;-)
