Well made and fit just right. I would have perferred grey lenses but this pair was an excellent buy. We be great when I go to Floeida for the winter.

I am extremely disappointed by these sunglasses. I have a pair of Julbo glasses that I love and I was really excited about the idea of photochromic lenses. Unfortunately these lenses really are not photochromic. The tint barely changes at all, and they DEFINITELY do not get anywhere near the darkness of spectron 4 (and I even tried bringing them to high elevation (~9,000') to see if they would respond to more intense light). I really wanted these to work for Mountaineering, but they stay much too light for use on a glacier. I really like them otherwise and the clairity of vision is great, but they're too expensive to keep since they do not function as advertised.

If you want a great pair of sunglasses, but do not need them to be very dark, these are for you. However if you want sunglasses that actually respond to changing light conditions or dark sunglasses for super-bright conditions, give these a miss.

Great Glasses! Overall quite pleased. The quality and fit is excelent. The only complaint is that they do not darken as much as advertised. They are said to range from spectron 2-4 . I have a pair of Julbo spectron-4 and the Zebra, I would estimate more at level 3.

  • Question “What does 'base curvature' mean? ”
Asked on 5/1/2013 7:55:51 PM by nicmac from Victoria (Australia)
    • Answer The base curve is the front curve of any sunglass lens. Sunglasses typically feature base curves between 6 and 9 measured curvatures. Sunglass models that feature a 6 base tend to be more flat relative to the front of the frame. While 9 base styles provide the maximum amount of wrap around your face. Base curves above 8 are not recommended for prescription lenses and the higher the Rx; the flatter the frame is advised. Many sunglasses replicate the look of an 8 base curve with larger temples to help block light coming in from the sides.
