Marmot products are of excellent quality and virtually indestructible. STP had such a good sale on this jacket that we bought two sizes for our preschooler. The XS is sized well for a 4 year old. This coat is super warm, but also very light -- great freedom of movement for those little guys to play! The hood is also very nice, and the zippers are concealed so as not to be scratchy at the neck.

Purchased the XL for my husband who is an athletic 5 foot 5 in and 135 lbs, it is a perfect fit much better than a mens small which he drowns in! He is an avid outdoorsman and needed something lightweight and compatible. It doesn't come with it's own stuff sack but works with one of our xs stuff sacks and compacts nicely. Super warm and the down hasn't lost any feathers yet. Great quality Marmot down for an incredible deal!

Answer Marmot kid sizing is based on age. If you hover your mouse over or click on the sizes the chest sizes are displayed. IE. L (Size 10 YRS-12 YRS) XL (Size 13 YRS-15 YRS)|According to our general size chart a boys 14 is 32" chest. According to the Marmot Kids Size Chart a Large (Size 10 YRS-12 YRS) fits a 30"-32" chest and the Extra Large (Size 13 YRS-15 YRS) fits a 32"-34" chest.
