No problems with needle movement and declinometer operation. A beefy hinge with a steel pin, and a fluorescent lanyard string. The translucent base allows use as a map compass. Not yet sure of the real accuracy of the thermometer. All seems in good alignment and the sighting nibs well-placed. This will make a great addition to my winter sports kit.
