These were comfortable, durable and even attractive. I wore them to hike the 2600+ miles of the Pacific Crest Trail, through all weathers and rough terrain and they held up perfectly. I could zip the legs and put them on and off without taking off my shoes because of the lower leg zippers, and the... Read More

I am short, 5'1" weight 145 # and the size 10 fit perfectly except for being about an inch or so too long, but I can work with
that. First hiking pants I found that fit and are almost waist high. I like the stretchy waist also. Too bad they didn't come in
a short length. Lots of short people hike !

I have ordered Royal Robbins Zip N Go pants for years. Since there are no specific models, I order by what looks close to the last pair ordered. These pants weren't even close to being like the last pair. The zipper was way shorter than what the picture looks like, the fabric was very thin, and I don't know how the pants could sit close to my natural waist with the shortened zipper.

I have worn these pants for days on end, zipping and unzipping as I made my way through my field sites in the Sierra Nevada. The material is super-soft and breathes well. The color-coded zip-off legs are very easy to get on and off. The cuffs have a wide velcro opening so you don't have to remove your boots when converting to shorts. The perfect number of pockets. An elastic waist means your pants aren't hanging off your hips 3-4 days in, which is the worst when you are hiking with a 40 lb pack. I am glad STP still has these pants--might buy a second pair as this summer's field season approaches. Size 8 worked well for me--5' 7" and 155.

Great fit! When zipped off, not too long, not too short. As pants, however, they are a little long - I'm 5'4" and I will need to hem them a few inches.

I love these pants. I have them in 3 different colors. I do a lot of hiking, and they are great for cool mornings and warm days, just zip off the legs and go! They were great for hiking in many different temperatures (from the Grand Canyon to the glaciers in the Canadian Rockies). I also love them for traveling to tropical climates in the winter. I can take the legs off in the plane or when I arrive in the warm climate, but I am warm when I leave the cold winter in Ohio. If necessary, they can be washed out in a sink and they are dry by morning.
