I gave this a 4 on performance but since wore it for a mountain climb in Utah at 20F or so and was never cold. Breathes very well even during strenuous work. I also wore this on an overnight trip down to 18F and with strong winds, where to get water we chopped through 3 inches ice on the lake, and it is better against wind and cold than fleece. Getting soaked with mix of snow above 8,000 ft and rain below the next day, it kept me very warm without sweating. Highly recommend.

Sizing chart is a little off. By the chart, I should need a M or a L, but I bought S and the S fits me easily.

I have started leading hiking, camping, and ski yurt social trips and I wanted something warm and nicer looking since my picture is being taken a lot now. This looks like a sweater in the pic, but more like a jacket in person. It is a sweater jacket and the looks are magnificent. I'm not too handsome or stylish, but right away putting this on, I look cool and stylish. Great for ski lodges, or yurt trips. Its warm enough to toss on as an outer layer for night skiiing or snowshoeing. Overall, on breathability and weight and warmth, I think it compares about flat with a cheap fleece jacket I have. Same problems too: wind will cut in, and its not something you'd want to sit fishing in October in. Every black part you see is non-insulated stretchy microfleece, as is the inside. So it will breathe well when doing light movement, but also let out lots of your heat when sitting still. Nice to keep on in the sleeping bag, somewhat snow (but not rain) resistant, and good to wear while take some pictures of the sunrise or go fetch water for breakfast, or to keep on until you are warmed up heading out for a day hike, or put on when you stop jogging, but it won't beat a good down jacket or a 3 in 1 fleece/shell ski jacket and its not for hunting or fishing or extreme winter camping. Ideal for 30-50 degrees F with moderate to light activity. 2 big inside pockets, 2 smaller outside pockets. Goes great with jeans, cargo pants, red slacks, pretty much everything. As for those who say its too big/heavy to take on a trip: I use a small pack and always tie my outerwear into a knot with the sleeves on the outside of the pack. No big deal. Wear it to dinner, wear it to camp.
