Reviewed by fireman jim from Minnesota on Monday, April 29, 2013I have used a variety of snowshoes over 30 plus years of traveling in the BWCA and Quetico. There is nothing to the idea that big shoes mean better floatation. The shorter and lighter the better. These shows do very well in deep soft snow and excelled crossing those patches of ice encountered on rivers and lakes. Turning and bushwacking are a lot easier in these short light and aggressively cramponed shoes.
