I got these to wear with thick socks, and even with merino hiking socks my feet barely fill these things. The length is right on for the size but they're wide, plus the construction and design seems to add even more space to the width. With bare feet or thin socks I have to shuffle my feet to keep from walking right out of them. But, they were inexpensive, and I knew I'd only wear them with thick socks so overall I'm pleased. They do feel just like boiled wool though they're polyester. The sole is the same fabric but has raised gripper beading which actually works real well.

Got these and they looked fine. But in whole sizes only, I ordered a 12 to accommodate my 11-1/2 size. Had to return because they were at least 1 size too large. I recommend ordering 1/2 size down, assuming mine were representative. Asked for an exchange, so I hope they have what I need. Quality seemed fine, especially for the closeout price. Almost a steal, really. Not sure they were ever worth the $30 "list" price. But on closeout, if you wore them 6 times and threw away, you'd have your money's worth.
