I bought this for my husband to use on a 2 week trip to Sturgis with the guys. His bike is always uncomfortable after an hour. Gel seats are comfortable, but really hold the heat in and nobody wants sweaty undies. He thought I was nuts and wasn't sold on the idea, but took it with him anyway and said, " This Sheepskin did the trick perfectly!" It is very thick yet allows air circulation so releases heat. The ONLY thing that could have made it better as far as he was concerned was if it had some way to attach it to the seat/bike. It's just a pelt as is. He was concerned that if he walked into gas station for a break somebody would walk off with it. A few cords would have made theft too time consuming to bother.

I ordered this more due to STP's outstanding prices than anything else. I do a fair bit of motorcycle touring, including several 2000+ mile trips each year. So far, I've only logged about 500 miles on this seat cover. It actually makes quite the difference; I can probably ride twice as long while still maintaining butt comfort.

One potential problem: it does not include any mechanism to hold it to the seat other than adhesive backing. I currently have it just sitting on the seat (held in place by my hind quarters), but I plan to try to tuck parts of it under the seat to hold it in place more positively.

This sheepskin seat cover is everything it was advertised to be. My leather Corbin seat is very slippery under my nylon/textile pants and this cover completely solved that issue. It also provides the perfect amount of padding.
The grey color matches the trim on my ST1100 very well.
Pros: comfy, cool *when the leather was too hot to sit on, looks great.
Cons: no straps or other attachment points, the adhesive on the rather large product label stayed on the leather after I peeled the sticker off, and I have now become a sales rep for Auskin and Sierra Trading Post *people ask about it a lot. :)

Kiss your hot spots and tire sore butt goodbye! This natural sheepskin is the most comfortable seat cover, in my opinion, that can be bought. There is no such thing as a comfortable motorcycle seat for me; just doesn't exist. There should be no surprise, as sheep skin saddle covers have been used for thousands of years on everything from horses to camels, as long as man has been riding. I guess I am just smarter than those who haven't ordered one yet. The product is well made, fits the seat and stays there without straps (in my case, as I have a Harley touring motorcycle just like the one shown in the ad) and the saddle time has tripled without stops. I can't say enough about the quality and comfort. G.B. North Carolina

  • Question “Is this a single pelt or a sewn pieces item?
Asked on 5/9/2014 10:36:08 AM by D. from Southeast US
    • Answer I just purchased this item and can confirm that it is a single pelt of fairly good size. I was able to cut mine in half so two of us can have a sheepskin seat cover.

    • Answer I'm not a professional by any means on evaluating skin, and not to be smart either, but I am sure it is one single pelt, no stitches, not pieced; one skin, one sheep :) and you will love it, and your butt will thank you for it! That btw is a professional opinion as I have been a butt user for 63 years!
