I am so happy I bought these- I love all the salomons I have had in the past and have been looking for a new backpacking boot. These are perfect, lightweight but supportive, waterproof and durable. I took these backpacking this past weekend and they kept my feet dry and comfortable. We also ended up scrambling over downed trees for almost 2 miles and I was sure they would have torn with all the broken branches but they look good as new!

I liked the fit and feel of these boots, ordered my usual size. A little thin in underfoot support, even when I switched to a better insole. But the real deal killer was that the laces didn't stay tight even for the 20 minutes I wore them indoors to try them out. They kept loosening. IF the laces did what they're supposed to do ( cinch up tight and stay that way), they would be a nice-fitting shoe for light hiking on smoother terrain. Not enough cushion or support for rockier, rougher hiking or for carrying packs more than ten or so pounds. I sent mine back.
