I am used to using hydration packs for hikes, and I recently purchased a kid carrier that was designed for a reservoir, but didn't come with one, and after purchasing this same product (in a smaller size for another pack of mine), I knew this would be what I was looking for. The quality of the prod... Read More

If you want the detachable hose, get the $10 adaptor kit and save about $15 over the newer ones.

I bought 2 of these for bringing on longer warmer weather backpacking trips instead of my 2 liter. They fill up the packs better and are as easy and simple as any other camelbak bladder. Will be all you expect if you like the brand.

They make drinking water fun! Stay hydrated!

I have a camelback in my large backpack and love it, so I added this to my small backpack. Works great!

The water reservoir holds a great amount! I enjoy not having to carry around water bottles for hiking. However, some of the newer water reservoirs have a back-bone to help the pack stay up and keeping the water from slouching in the bag. The backbone also makes it easier to slide in and out of the pack.

Love these older-design reservoirs! The newer ones have click-in hoses that are notorious for leaking. Sometimes simpler is better!

  • Question “Will this fit other brand backpacks? I have an old Hydrapak (Ammo)
Asked on 9/8/2014 5:19:09 AM by MSM from New York
    • Answer I'm not familiar with the Hydrapak sizing wise, but I can tell you that just this weekend I pulled it out of my 40L pack and put it in a regular sized backpack and it worked like a charm.

    • Answer These bladders are 100 oz. If your previous bladder was 100 oz you should have no problem.

    • Answer The size of this reservoir is approximately 18" tall by 8" wide. Being flexible, the bag can adjusted to fit many other packs. The tube is over 38" long which helps to fit different pack sizes.

    • Answer Yes, it fits in my old Camelback (larger daypack) and my other old (smaller, and I don't remember the brand) hydration pack. It is a tight fit in the smaller pack but works just fine as long as you don't kink the hose. I am not familiar with hydrapak (Ammo). You might want to put the reservoir in the pack before filling it with water.

    • Answer Take measurements then compare the measurements with this replacement reservoir... I have the Mule CamelBak which is an older model and this replacement did not fit, I did not take measurements just assumed because it was CamelBak it would fit!

if the price is right, you might be happy with this replacement and just make it work? This replacement is a top quality hydration reservoir!

    • Answer The CamelBak Omega Reservoir will fit hydration back packs that are designed to fit long, narrow bladders that hold 100 ounces. There are some some that are designed to hold 32 ounce and 70 ounce bladders that are shorter so you will need to make sure there is enough room for the 17.5 inc x 7 inch dimension.
