I really loved these shoes until they both started coming unglued. They work great for snow, weigh just about nothing, grip fine, and don't carry much mud. Unfortunately I took them on a trip to the Great Sand Dunes (thinking I could get buy without emptying my shoes every five minutes) and they plum fell apart. Both soles came unglued. I'll try to stick them back together, but it was a pretty disappointing showing for these otherwise good shoes.

Bought this to both snowshoe in as well as trail run in messy weather.
Works great for both. Have only used few times so don't know about durability.
Shoe get bit warm but expected that. semi-roomy toe box and nice fitting heel. not overly flexible because of rock plate but don't notice any limit while running.

The built-in gator was great on a 7 mile run in the Sierras over loose terrain in dry conditions: it kept the debris out that would normally find its way into my shoe and require me to stop and get it out. Traction was phenomenal!

These zipped so tight around my wife's ankles that she cannot wear them. They actually cut off the circulation. Otherwise, very cool shoes, but returned. She doesn't have cankers either. Very fit active runner.

I did a fair amount of research for a pair of winter running shoes and found these. I purchased them a couple of weeks ago, did a 5k on the pavement to check them out and they were great. Today I did a longer trail run with about an inch of fresh snow, they performed flawlessly. Feet were very comfortable, stayed dry and warm and the nice gaiter like zip up part keeps the snow and cold out. They have an nice pattern on the bottom for traction and there was no slipping even running the hills. Best of all the price is great, I liked these so much that I ordered another pair today. I know in one of the reviews someone mentioned them being flimsy but I would use the term lightweight instead. They really are an ideal winter running shoe, more so for trails but I'll use them for the road too. It doesn't appear you can remove the insole, it's sewed in place but I plan on trying a better insole with time, if it will fit. They also seem true to size for fit.
