Reviewed by DaylilyFan from Columbus, Ohio on Friday, April 19, 2013I bought these for a birding trip in Colorado, as gaiters or Neos were recommended for a short but steep hike at Loveland Pass. However, they were also essential in Walden, where we had to push our van out of a foot of snow! These are light weight and thus easy to pack. I bought a large per the manufacturer's chart, but I had to scrunch the top. I never thought of myself as having small calves, but perhaps the extra room is important if you wear really thick snow pants. I recommend these for any occasional user; however, they might be too light-duty for someone who is out in the snow for long periods on a regular basis.
