I'm really picky about boots and I'm happy with these. I was looking for a well-made, comfortable, waterproof and versatile boot to use for on and off-trail day hikes and short backpacks. I've been out on several mushroom forays and hikes and these boots fit the bill. They are not ultralights -- wh... Read More

    I love these boots.

I've only taken them on a few short hikes so far, but they are extremely well-made and offer the extra ankle support I was looking for. I recently twisted my ankle so I wanted a durable boot that would not perpetuate my injury and had the potential to go on longer hikes once I rebuild my strength. They will take some breaking in as the top edge of the ankles is a bit stiff but wearing a cushioned sock is helping with that.

I normally wear a US 7 shoe, but based on reviews ordered the UK size 5 which is equivalent to a 7.5. These fit perfectly and have enough wiggle room in the toes. I wanted a shoe with a roomier toe box and plenty of support so I would not be sliding down into the toe box. These are great on the downhill and my feet stay rooted in place. On the laces, there is one hook that reaches farther back than the rest, and this really helps with getting a snug and firm fit around the ankle.

The arch support inside was surprisingly comfortable and high enough that I can get away without wearing my orthodics.

I chose the color "Aeshe" and I love it in person.

The boot was very well made. but they were a little stiff and tight in the toe box with my orthotic in place. I was experiencing pain after 3 miles.

Needed a new pair of boots for backpacking and discovered these. They're very comfortable and well-made. Not the lightest of boots, but the lighter ones I tried felt too much like tennis shoes. An on-line review noted that these feel lighter on your feet than they actually weigh, and I agree. I wore them to work for a few days to break them in, then did a 20-mile weekend backpacking trip and they were perfect. No blisters, no sore spots, and my feet stayed warm and dry despite tramping through 8" of snow. I have a narrow foot and these fit very well without being sloppy, but they have enough room in the toebox that my toes didn't feel cramped. That lacing hook at the ankle really helps make them feel solid on your foot without having to lace uncomfortably tightly. I usually wear an 8-1/2 to a 9 and the size 7 is perfect for me.

as with most Sierra shoes these are seconds, visible by the toe rand being a little crooked. Other than the cosmetic issue these boots are fabulous. Nice looking, comfortable and supportive, fits true to size with a nice roomy toe. I would buy this brand new in a heartbeat and pay full price
