Winter is harsh, and I really feel its wrath. In planning for what's to come, I have been seeking a warm but simple black top shirt or sweater to wear over my many layers. I had requirements: it needed to be very warm, but light and non-bulky to make it easy to travel with. It needed to be soft. It ... Read More

I love this zip shirt/jacket! I first purchased it in black to wear on a cruise to Alaska. It was warm, nicely tailored, and it had pockets big enough for my cell phone. It was a perfect layer under a rain parka. When I saw this item was being discontinued, I had to order another one. It's my "go to" layer first thing in the morning while I'm waiting for the wood furnace to heat the house to a comfortable daytime temperature.

I bought the medium for the bit of extra room that it offers to make layering an option.
this has worked out very well!
    The bright trim is attractive!

The fabric is great and this shirt (more like a jacket rather than a shirt I think) would probably be great on a taller person. I will have to send it back, it is much too long in the sleeves and body on my 5'1" frame.

nice weight, nice fabric, very poor quality zipper that is hard to operate. don't like thinking about trying to zip it in the cold!

I've gotten many compliments on this jacket in the last week that I've owned it. I'm a 12-14 and pretty curvy, the XL fits great. I'm glad it's not too tight. My only complaint is the zipper - it's sticky and hard to get started, or take off completely. Regardless - I love having an all-wool sweater.
