This sock feels so snug and warm. This is definitely the warmest sock I own. Stays up nicely without digging into skin. This is a must have. Wish they had more styles to choose from. Even though these are ski socks, I plan to use them with any boots to keep warm.

Be aware of the intentionally unnoticeable "2nds" that leads the description for these socks on Sierra Trading Post's website. That is important because these are not retail grade socks. These are irregulars which the manufacturer deemed unsuitable for retail sale.

Normally I wouldn't care too much because the imperfections are usually too minor to be a concern. HOWEVER, every one of these Smartwool "2nds" socks comes with a HUGE "IRREGULARS" stamp on the side of the sock, surrounded by a box. This stamp is intentionally BOLD by Smartwool, but Sierra Trading Post does not state anywhere in their description that these socks have this obnoxious stamp on them. The stamp is in fact 2.5" x .5" in size and VERY NOTICEABLE.

If you will never take off your shoes in front of others, then no worries. If you do ever plan to wear these socks with no shoes in front of others, they will definitely see this label.

Love my socks! Bought these full price at a ski shop this winter and loved them! Loved Sierra's price better, wouldn't know they were irregulars except for label. Warm, comfortable supportive on legs, light cushioning on shin. Great sock, good price.

These socks are not just called ski socks but are actually designed for skiing. Well thought out with extra cushioning where needed and thinner material at where needed.

SmartWool makes the best ski sox. The have cushioning in all the right places, don't get sweaty, and are warm. I use these sox for both Nordic and Alpine skiing and they are good for both.

Ordered two pair. One pair had slight flaw. One of the diamond designs (about the size of a half dollar piece) on the shin was missing the merino wool padding. You could see through the sock where the wool was missing (not a hole, just thread bare). Not a serious wear point. So, no big deal. These socks are not thick and they fit well so no bunching or wadding up under toes :)
