Riedels are NOT the best glasses out there. Zalto's are my favorite. However, at this price-point (I snagged them for ~$40 for a pair), these are unbeatable. Of all of the Riedels (including the sommelier line), these are my favorite. A nice wide bowl and a bit of a flare. Use these for everything from pinot noir (as the name suggests) to chardonnays or even [good] champagnes.

We had bought some of these Reidel glasses while pinot tasting in the Willamette Valley several years ago. This is our favorite glassware so I was pleased to see that STP had them for such a good price, especially if you catch them on the special discount days.

Make a 20 dollar bottle seem like a 50 and a bottle of grandpa's homemade wine seem like the finest bottle of washington state Pinot noir. Love these

I compared drinking different wines from this glass and a good Cabernet glass... with Pinot noir and Nebbiolo grapes this glass made these wines softer, more rounded, with less tannic aftertaste than the Cab glass.. it brought more wine into the center of the palate is my guess. It did worse for Bordeaux, made the wine lose nuance.
They are leaded, but I read a study that because of the limited time the wine is in the glass the amount of lead leaching is negligible. The glass is very thin, however, and will probably break easily, but that's the tradeoff.

We first tried these glasses in a vineyard tour in Hood River Oregon. It was amazing how these glasses made the Pinot come alive. We now love these glasses at home. They have definately spoiled us. I would highly recommend these glasses for anyone that loves Pinot.
