Great product, fits well and protects my dog's chest when we hike or horseback ride in the woods or field. Also, the color makes the dog visible to any hunters that may be in the area. The fabric is easy to clean as we know that our hunting dogs not only like to rub up against nasty stuff, but roll ...

My 50 pound lab is almost to small for the medium, and my 50 pound shorthair swims in it. Keeping the medium for the lab and exchanging the large for a small for the shorthair. I don't know what field dog would fit in the large!

Like many others I was buying this vest for my dog for greater visibility on hikes during the hunting season when weapons are in the woods. After reading the reviews it was obvious that sizing was going to be a problem and that the vest was greatly over-sized. One writer wrote that the medium vest fit their 75# lab, my lab has a large chest and weighs 95#'s so I ordered the large. It's still too big, especially the straps are so long that the overlap of Velcro barely catches its mating half.
We took a three mile hike into the ADK last weekend and when we got home two days later I noticed that the front straps had chafed the underside of my dogs front legs so bad that the hair was worn off and his skin raw and oozing fluid do to the friction.

After reading the other reviews, I figured I'd go with a smaller size. I have a GSP who weighs in at around 55-60 lbs. The upper fits OK, but the lower area around the stomach isn't even close to fitting. I'm going to keep it because it was inexpensive, but I'll have to make a modification to the Velcro for it to be usable.

Not just too big, but especially too big through the waist. This might fit an obese city dog, but for any dog that gets a health amount of exercise you will have to radically shorten the rear velcro closure straps. If you are handy with a sewing machine this will not be a problem & then this product is a good deal. Otherwise, spend the extra bucks on another brand.
