This shirt is definitely worth the buy. It's very light weight and durable. The sizing of the shirt is true and exact. I highly recommend this shirt.

The shirt is excellent particularly the price. I do object to the label on the Velcro tab but that was easily removed.

As others have mentioned this shirt runs large, but not in the neck. Who buttons the neck button on a casual shirt? My husband has only worn it once so I don't know about the laundry characteristics as yet. It has unique expandable shirt pockets, also ventilated back. Where else can you get a good shirt for this price?

  • Question “Sun protection factor?
Asked on 6/11/2014 4:52:21 AM by wif from calif.
    • Answer That data isn't listed. The shirt is pretty thin and lightweight but I have spent over 100 hours in sunlight with it and have not had any issues. Clothing is rating using UPF rather than SPF (which is used for sunscreen and other cosmetics). Searching internet with UPF maybe more useful.

    • Answer I've been in the Tetons & Yellowstone for the past 10 days in bright sun. It seems to protect just fine.

    • Answer Unless stated, I to not think it has any more than other shirt. That was not a major concern as I use mine for hiking, and normally thats in wooded areas.

    • Answer I'm not sure about the UV protection. It may be under the specs of the product. However, I do know it is a great shirt with a fairly tight weave which would offer sun protection.

    • Answer I have several of these shirts. Th sun protection factor is not listed. What they are is a very good substitute for the more expensive Columbia fishing shirts. I have both and I use these for "knock around" weekend, boat repair and yard work. At Sierra trading they have been such a bargain I don't worry about ruining them.

    • Answer I can't really answer this adequately since my husband wears 2-3 of these shirts he owns with the sleeves rolled up all summer long and never worries or thinks about sun exposure. He doesn't have a clue as to whether or not this shirt has any sun protection. He just likes the fact they're light weight and easy to wash and dry.

    • Answer I'm not sure it has any special sun protection factor. I have other shirts that have a UPF of 30 or 40. I still like the shirt and any long sleeve shirt provides some protection. I've bought 4 so far.

    • Answer It had no factor per sey but it's a long sleeve shirt so it's got you covered. my son in peru with the peace corps likes it. MY other son canoeing the Mississippi should have taken it.

    • Answer I wore this shirt last weekend on backpacking trip in Rocky Mountain National Park. It was sunny all weekend and my time was spent in and out of cover on the trail. It protected just fine in those conditions. Not sure how well it would have done if I had been spending the whole day in the sun.

    • Answer A large in Columbia shirts fit chest sizes 42-45, this in a large fits chest sizes 42-44. If you like the fit of the Columbia shirts I would think then the large in this shirt would be the best fit.
