    These are not by any stretch of the imagination heavyweight. They are a simple inexpensive light weight sock. They do however have a wonderful nearly invisible seem on the toe which is the best I have ever seen.

    Tried wearing this hiking without a sock liner and it definitely rubs against your skin. I have some Smartwool PHd socks and I don't have that problem w/ the smartwool socks. I also bought the Lorpen liner socks and the texture is also rough with their liners socks. Go with smartwool socks instead.
