Purchased these boots as a Christmas gift for my sister. They are well made as you would expect of a Keen product. The leather is very nice. I've tried them on and they feel true to size and very comfortable. They will go perfect with a long skirt, leggings and or skinny jeans. I think the boots are timeless. Wedge heals go and come in fashion but these are really cool.

The miles color is a beautiful smokey purple. Super comfortable. First time I wore them I was on my feet for 12 hours and they felt great. Ordered a second pair in another color which I've never done before. Fit true to size.

When I ordered this boot, I was looking for both casual and dress. I ordered (2) pair, one slate and one miles (colors). The slate is truly rich dark brown, not black. The heel is nice, not too high. I am not accustomed to heels anyway, so comfort is important. The soles have a nice tread, so they should work well in the snow. The price and quality is excellent and it's another winner for Keen foot ware.
I love the slate black. It isn't black at all. It is more of a grey/taupe/green combination. It is a very neutral color that goes with everything. I am wearing them right now actually (with a two-tone grey sweater jacket, grey tights and a black tee)!

Originally I purchased one pair of each of these colors (miles and slate black). Slate black is actually a very pretty shade of dark brown.
Because I had forgotten about a pair of brown boots I had previously purchased last year, I returned the slate black and kept the miles. I too plan to wear for casual dress, so I kept the "miles" as it's a unique shade on its own. I occasionally wear black, but my preferences are grey and brown. You can't go wrong with either color as the boot is very comfortable!
