Stopped wearing these on the original 2000 model 9 yrs ago as they were too loose for my narrower heel and foot. Switched to brooks adrenaline which provider a tighter fit and have been running only in brooks since. Saw they had revamped the model to be a more glove like fit so I tried the new GT-... Read More

I would imagine that lighter weight runners would really enjoy these shoes, as they are comfortable and durable. I'm 195lbs and there just isn't enough squish in the footbed to reduce the joint pain of my running style. I'm loyal to Asics and will just go back of my other model #.

Asics shoes are some of the very best made. Buying shoes is like buying a new car--many choices, confusing features, huge price range. But Asics comes close to being all things to all people. I find them to be very comfortable straight out of the box with no break-in needed. They are adequately cushioned and supportive, but not overdone. The 2000 model is a year or so old (not the current model), but just as good as the newer one. It is a $110-120 shoe for less than $60--what is not to love about that?

This shoe is comfortable and provides good support. I got the orange/white/black color and found the orange to be extremely bright though.

This shoe is too small. Ordered other Asics gel shoes from Sierra in same size (14) that fit fine. Very disappointed. These will have to be returned -even though it is a great shoe

  • Question “What does a D width mean????”
Asked on 3/3/2014 9:20:55 PM by Susan S from Michigan
    • Answer D is regular width, M is wide. These shoes do not come on widths so I went up a size to compensate.
Answered on 3/4/2014 3:51:23 AM by JJ from Vancouver, WA.
    • Answer D is a medium width for ASICS.

  • Question “What does a D width mean????”
Asked on 3/3/2014 9:19:08 PM by Susan S from Michigan
    • Answer D width means average width in the toe box, to fit the average foot. EE width means wider width in the toe box.
Answered on 3/4/2014 4:12:49 AM by Joe the LD Runner from Indiana
    • Answer I googled it before I purchased them! D-width is a standard width from what I gathered. I have been fitted for running shoes in the past and always got the standard width. These fit just fine!
Answered on 3/4/2014 4:28:44 AM by Kurt from Wisconsin
    • Answer This is a normal width (or medium) for feet. For example, a B width means the shoe is narrow and an E will be wider.
If you have never specifically purchased narrow or wide shoes - a D width is for you.
