I purchased these sandals for my son. Sizing is same as regular Birkenstocks and quality is very nice.

I'm still hoping these will break in and become more comfortable but I have my doubts. In my opinion, Birkis just can't seem to get these sandals right. I also own the Birki Malibu sandals and they need work too. If they could combine the two it might just work.

I have a problem with the insoles of this Haiti model: The little grooves that I suppose are to channel water away from your feet are very uncomfortable and I think it is because the material of the footbed is too hard - besides, I don't think the grooves are deep enough to channel out water anyway. Maybe wearing a sock would be more comfortable but then you'd loose the waterproof feature which is what I need.

The arch is a bit too much - for the same reason as the insoles, just too hard, and it doesn't seem to be breaking in at all. I have worn Birkenstocks since the 60's so I am use to and like the nice arches in them so I was bummed when this model didn't live up to the comfort I am use to. The Malibu model has the opposite problem - it's too soft - a pair didn't even last me through half the summer and I am not hard on shoes. Birkis just doesn't seem to be able to find the right material to make their waterproof soles and insoles out of.
