I ordered this shirt for two reasons: 1) to keep warm and 2) to match an outer shirt in color. This shirt did both. I needed a shirt to compliment my Officials shirt for Track and Field. The RED matched perfectly. I also needed it to provide warmth wile I sat and did my job at the finish line in coo... Read More

This works as advertised. Wicks really well and if you are active heats up fast and retains the heat. The only downfall is that the omni heat lining gets a little sticky when you sweat. Once dried out, which doesn't take long, it doesn't feel sticky. Very form fitting base layer unlike the mid weight 2 that Columbia has. The mid weight 2 is roomier, which I do not prefer.

I was comfortable wearing this under a light sweater and light jacket while hiking at temperatures around 12-14F. It is cut for someone who is tall and narrow. I am stocky and bought a big size, but the sleeves come over my hands and the shoulders fit weird. Still, as an undershirt that no one sees it kept me warm and I did not sweat.

Wore this baselayer on a couple 10-15 mile hikes at 30-40F. The Columbia Omni-wick midweight definitely wicks well, so make sure your other layers can vent or else it will just build up. The Omni-heat was warm for a garment of its weight, but I expected more for some reason. Overall, good performance and worth the buy with Sierra's discounts.

Happy with the function, fit, and look of this shirt. Nice to have sleeve and shirt length for longer torso. Works, warms and wicks as advertised.
