I have a high instep and really worry about ordering western boots on-line. So, I thought I'd try a p... Read More

leather was designed to appear distressed but it was overdone and just looked abused. Fit was good

I have a high instep and really worry about ordering western boots on-line. I had recently bought a pair of Nocona boots from Sierra and they stated that they ran large, so I ordered 1/2 size smaller than normal and they fit well...snug, but well and the length is right on. So, I thought I'd try a pair of Lucchese. The crackle leather finish intrigued me so I ordered this pair. Since there was no notation of size irregularities, I ordered my normal size. These are spot on! Went on without needing to be stretched at the instep and are super comfortable. Very nice boots, and a bargain at the price I got them for. Now, about the crackle leather finish.....Look at it carefully in the enlarged view. These boots are a conversation piece. They really are different from anything I've ever seen, and I like them. They will not take polishing to a high sheen....and brown polish tones down the crackle finish. I don't understand why kids buy jeans with holes in them..like the ones I used to throw out, but I can see buying these boots. They look well worn in and the texture is rough, but they have a rugged good look about them. I'm totally satisfied with this purchase.
