very happy STP carries manduka mats! i was not aware of this until they shipped me their latest catalog. it's light (~3.5 lb), non-slip, low-profile, and supportive. i accidentally mistook this as the superlite mat (2 lb, d'oh), but it's fine...this one is still reasonable for travel

This was my first good quality mat purchase. I really like the feel of this mat, the size is perfect, and it is no more slippery than my past mats. For hot yoga I do need to wipe my hands and feet often or use my hot yoga towel. I personally like that it is 3mm, as I do not like the mats with excessive cushion, but I do need additional support when holding postures on a single knee, as it does not provide much cushion. The rubber smell upon arrival is a bit harsh, but I aired it out in a spare room for a few days before my first use and it was just fine.

Overall I love this mat. I also love the fact that is is ecofriendly. The only thing I would recommend is getting a towel to go with the mat because if you get really sweaty in hot yoga, sometimes the mat gets slippery. I would recommend this mat and I actually bought it for my mom for Christmas as well!

I got this mat because the reviews stated it was a great sticky mat, no slipping even if very sweaty. My hands and feet slipped. I sweat. I think sweat needs to be qualified. I mean sweat rolling down your face, off your torso, down your arms onto your hands and feet - sweat. That' is sweaty. A little warmth and dampness and some beads of sweat is not what I mean. This mat is indeed sticky, but once the sweat gets going, you will still need to get your towel out. With my towel I was fine.
It is also very very thin. I have a solid yoga practice. Initially, I bought very thick mats because I was a beginner and liked the padding. I have whittled it down with time, but this one was very very thin. It is a travel mat, which would be thin. But my knees hurt . I am older so my knees have been around for a while. It was the first time I had to roll up the side of the mat and pad my knee. No big deal. But know this is a thin, travel mat.

This light weight quality mat offers perfect "stickiness" to any yoga pose. At this value it is the perfect opportunity to upgrade your mat. This is the mat I "haul" around. Word of caution, if you need extra cushion this may not be the mat for you. You can cut up your old mat and use a section to cushion your knees when needed. I love this mat and love this value.
