I've been looking for something light and comfortable. This tent features two doors and plenty of living space with room enough to sit up on both ends, and for two men to sleep comfortably head-to-toe. The best I could find, really, at any price point, for considering both weight and practical use. Upgrading the tent stakes makes it even easier to carry. I watched a youtube video the first time to figure out how to put it up, and now it's a cinch.

Awkward to get in an out due to the positioning of the zipper and fly door. On the first model, the fly door opened on the right side, not the left. You can see on the picture I attached that the zipper stops almost right in the middle of the doorway opening. Really wanted to like this tent but sent it back and ended up getting the Aeros 3 tent that we like a lot. The Aura 2 is well made....typical Marmot quality and attention to detail. Loved the length and the head room...a good amount of space for two people. Others have given this tent great ratings so I would say the door is NOT a back breaker for most....just did not work for me. It is a good tent at a great STP price.

peculiar pole set-up, but assembles quickly right out of the bag. super sturdy in windy conditions - which was surprising given peak height. the vestibules are different sizes. that info. isn't provided on the web-page, so that was a bit of a bummer.

Excellent tent: dry in even epic storms, well-vented in the hot and humid, and quite light for the features and space. A steal at this price.

I have used for five years and many nights and miles with no complaints and much joy. The innovative pole arrangement (later copied by other brands) make the long walls dead vertical. The "bent leg" poles that make the first foot or so of end wall vertical are genius: this is a much roomier tent than the floor dimensions suggest and can seat four for a game of cards. It's not overly wide, but sleeps two comfortably, particularly if you sleep head-to-foot and use the two generous vestibules for boots and packs. Note the 88" length is great for tall backpackers like me (6'-2") to avoid touching the end walls. Like every Marmot tent I've seen it has great craftsmanship and is bombproof if well staked. Other tents may offer to shave a few ounces for similar area, but if you want a backpacking tent that still offers comfort and confidence you just found your shack.

A minor word of warning: if you intend to do the fast-n-lite pitch with footprint, fly and poles, the pole ends will rub around on the fly (there are no pockets or webbing sewn in) which could over time poke a hole. If I am bringing a tent it means I suspect bugs, so that has not been an issue for me, but if that is a feature you want, you have been warned.

    • Answer Buy some Tyvek, cut it to size and wash it. Let it air dry. You can buy at Home Depot or Lowes and also on e-bay. Much cheaper than a footprint.

    • Answer I wish I could. I live in Arizona and havent found much of a need for a footprint. As for the tent, love it. I'm sorry I couldn't be anymore help to you.

    • Answer I haven't been able to locate a footprint for this tent either. I have been using it w/o a footprint - as I do all of my tents. So far I have had no problems. If you feel you need one though, you could easily use a tarp (about 6' x 8') will work, but you will have to fold back the corners for the tent stakes, and remember, the back vestibule is more shallow than the front, so you may want to grommet places for the vestibule stakes.
