Got both the black and grey and they have both been worn a few times since received. Bought mostly as addition to jogging gear, I first tried them out wearing around the house. They are very comfortable, provide decent warmth, especially for how thin they are (that's the merino there) and overall seem well constructed. I was comfortable with short sleeves with the vest on vs otherwise wearing a long sleeve microfleece. The fit works pretty well for me-perhaps a tad long in the torso but at least it is form-fitting which I was looking for in jogging gear. I had purchased some other Smartwool PhD tops and they were a loose fit and returned, but these vests fit the bill nicely. Large fits what I would characterize as "snug" for me (6'2" normally 46L suit jacket, 36" waist). Not tight but not loose either. It does puff out a bit in the front zipper area (zipped up of course) when sitting in certain positions, but otherwise it is a great vest. Wore the grey one with MHW Effusion Power jacket the other night and was very comfortable jogging in upper 20s with a thin base layer underneath. Haven't worn it alone in the wind yet so cannot really comment too much on the nylon layer wind resistance other than it worked well in the combo.

Nice fit , long and looks lean like the picture. I'm 6'2" with a long torso and it fit perfectly. I bought it basically for work where the temps can vary a lot from area to area and wear it with a button down shirt, like another reviewer mentioned, and looks good.

Sorry, guys, but I will be returning this. Yes, it says it is a vest. But the picture made it look like it had sleeves, and pretty neat ones. It does not. It is "just" a vest. And, although it is SmartWool, it is very thin, and runs a bit large. I am 6'5" and 197 pounds, and a large was too wide for me.

This is an extremely well thought out piece if gear. Very well put together. Comfortable well fitted and easy to layer with. Fits nicely between base and mid weight layers as an extra core insulator. Very warm for being so thin and wind resistant to help keep drafty winds out if you need to open your outer layer to get into a pocket. Works well for exercise as well. Used it with a heavy base layer for a run and it breathes well yet blocks the wind and the collar height is ideal. All around great piece for a very reasonable price.
