I was looking for a sleeping bag I could take on backpack trips into the mountains where, even in summer, the temperatures drop to 30 or below at night. I tend to sleep cold, so I wanted something that was both very warm and very light. In order to test this bag, I pitched my tent in my back yard on a night the temperatures dropped to 30F. It only took a few minutes to be comfortably warm after I crawled inside that evening. I zipped the bag and tightened the neck/head cinch and dropped off to sleep. I actually woke up in the middle of the night because I was too warm and loosened the cinch so more cold air could get in. After that, the rest of the night was comfortable and even my feet were toasty warm. I look forward to taking this bag with me on a weeklong trip this summer, knowing that I will be fine no matter what the weather has in store for us.
