A really nice jacket for the money. It has my favorite style of pockets - slash pockets in front, EASY access. I am a female that bought a man's jacket for the room. It is LONG, and lower in the back, long sleeves. It hasn't rained so no idea how much it will shed the rain. Will be enough for t... Read More

It looks and fits great. I haven't used it yet, but I believe it will provide very good rain protection, and some warmth. It will be most useful in the fall, or cool spring months, or over warmer clothes in the winter. Underarm vents would have been nice, but I didn't expect that feature. At the price, a very good value.

Love this thing. I am typically a Large, but went XL due to some other reviews. It fits well, if not a tad baggy, but this way I can use it as an outlayer with a fleece etc. Zipper doesn't bother me at all (it's on the other side i.e. Euro). Material is good, not too loud. Great pocket choices.

Great jacket for travel to rainy and cool areas. Very waterproof and wind resistant. Bought two.
    Zipper is left handed.

Purchased to replace an old true running jacket. Used this past weekend in D.C. Temp was 29-30 degrees sunny but with wind of 20 mile gusts. No rain but it nicely broke the wind and was so comfortable.
It should be great for a rainy day and I will gladly update should it not be sufficient for rain.

Have worn this twice in light to medium rain. Performed as advertised. Fit is good and can be worn over a sweater. As others have commented, the zipper pulls from the wrong side for an American man, but it works well and doesn't bother me. I wish it had a zip pocket at the collar where you could stash the hood when you don't need it, but even without that the jacket is well worth the money. Overall quality is very good.

  • Question “Does the jacket fold up small for travel?”

Asked on 3/19/2015 9:46:51 AM by elluxxy from New Jersey
    • Answer Depends on what you mean by "small". It will not fit in the pocket of another garment, but will not take up a lot of room in a carry on suitcase. I'd compare it to the size of a heavy shirt or pair of blue jeans when tightly folded. It's a great jacket for traveling in temperate climates from mid spring through the summer and until mid fall. Works well in rain and wind.

    • Answer Pretty small, not as small as the totally stripped unlined jackets - the mesh does add a little bulk - but a lot of comfort.

  • Question “Can you mold the bill on the hood?”

Asked on 7/12/2014 12:41:16 AM by CK from Chicago
    • Answer The hood is quite soft...so I think no. On the other hand an inexpensive hat with a curved brim will allow the hood to fit over it and should do the job.

    • Answer I am 6 ft 1 " about 210 lbs. Normally an XL fits me well. However, I had to return the coat this size and order an XXL. The XL was definitely tight about the chest. I like to layer things and the cost is now wonderful for that. So I would recommend an M size. It is a wonderful coat and the return policy at Sierra is excellent. They sent the new coat the day I called and did not need to wait until the return coat arrived at their store. So you really cannot loose: excellent coat and excellent return process.
