We've used it twice, and I love it. The dog likes the easy fit and unhampered legs. He could care less about getting wet - its me that likes less toweling off at home! Pros: Plentiful reflective cording and graphics, chest coverage, ample hindquarters drop and the very easy to adjust neck and waist ... Read More

My dog is very happy and protected from the elements. Huge plus....NO VELCRO. My dog HATES velcro. This coat is so easy to put on and off and covers my dog really well. She only weighs 15 pounds, but is very long, so I got her a medium and it is perfect for her.

This is just the kind of rain coat I was looking for to really cover the chest and haunches. It's buckle makes it easy to put on and adjust and there is no velcro near my dog's hair which is great. The leg straps were not comfortable for my dog the one time I tried them (it is winter in NE right now, but I couldn't resist.) She sat down and refused to go any further - once her legs were out she trotted along happily. I imagine this will work really well this summer - it's also smart looking. Her hair is think and once it's wet and can cause hot spots in the summer so I really wanted to good coverage. I measured her and got the suggested size and it fits well.

Nice quality dog coat. Keeps out the rain. I would give the coat five stars but there is no way to attach a leash through the coat so you end up pushing the coat back to attach a leash.

I have wanted to try these for several years but was reluctant because they were so pricey and so many dog coats have fit issues or other problems that only become obvious in use. These are the best I have used so far on my three hard-charging, farm-living Jack Russells. The two males are in 13" (which might be just a touch short across the top but 14 is too big overall) and the smaller female is in a 12". They are great for the barn and the trail, though they will get snow packed up under the chest, as just about any dog coat will do on a short dog bounding around in deep snow.. The leg elastics might have annoyed them a little bit the first time wearing, but they got used to it quickly.

Have not had a chance to use this coat in the rain, but did use it as a windbreaker during a break on a cold, windy ridge. The fit was close enough that my furry friend did not seem to mind wearing it. The picture does not depict the true attachment. The strap/buckle arrangement goes over the middle of the back, outside the raincoat. Works OK, but does not have that "clean" appearance. This arrangement presents additional entanglement possibilities in brushy areas. My friend stays close when we are out, so this is not a major issue with me.

I like this coat enough that I ordered the insulated version for those cold winter trips.

  • Question “How do you determine the size you need?”
Asked on 10/16/2013 1:32:51 PM by Calvin Climb from PA
    • Answer You need to measure your dog's back. Measure from the back of his neck to his tail. The numbers indicate the size length in inches. Also if you click on the sizes it will indicate the length and a breed to give you an idea of the size. I. E. 24 (Length 24 IN. BACK, GERMAN POINTER)
