I don't often write in praise of shoes, but I've found several at STP that I can brag about finding.

These Dunham Aidens are affiliated with New Balance - the running shoe people, and these probably represent a branching off to more casual shoe styles. Their look attracted me because they are simple in their design without any silly tassles or other unnecessary add ons, like most other loafers have. When they arrived, I was a bit apprehensive because they seemed to be too snug at first.

Having some experience with leather goods, however, I could tell that the type of leather used in the making of this shoe is thicker and hardier than found in most other loafers, so I decided to wear them around the house to see if body heat had the effect I'd intended on them. Sure enough, and without any blisters, these shoes felt broken in after about three hours of non-demanding wear.

Now, what makes a three hour breaking in of leather still a good deal is that hardiness factor indicating quality in its thickness. Another benefit to the leather used in this shoe is that it is not a glossy shoe that requires polishing. That's not to say that the shoes are unattractive though, they have the characteristics typically found in matte photography instead of glossy, which works fine for my taste.

They don't appear to be easily soiled or scuffed, and that's the part of the non-glossy benefit that I really like about them. Beyond that, I believe that these loafers will be with me for a very long time, which also suits me fine as I'm not one who enjoys shopping like my wife does.

One important thing to remember about these shoes, however, is that you probably shouldn't try wearing them in any kind of demanding activities, like spending the day on your feet in them at an amusement park, because they require a small amount of breaking in which can cause blisters and the resulting feeling of never wanting to see them again, let alone putting them on. Given some time around the house, they'll become a favorite.

These shoes ( I have all three colors) fit better than any shoes I ever owned. They are fantastic.

I usually wear a 9 1/2 E. I ordered the 9 1/2 EE. The width and length were fine, but they are tight vertically and press on the top of my feet. Only had them a week or so and hoping they will stretch some. Otherwise a nicely made pair of slip-ons.
