Excellent boots! Very well made with a stiff and sticky vibram sole. I purchased these boots for lite backpacking (camera gear, lens, and necessities) in and around the Smoky Mountains. I've logged a bunch of miles thus far and I'm completely satisfied with the fit and feel of these incredibly well-mde boots. The Sole insoles that are included in these boots deserves mentioning as well as they add to the overall comfort in a big way!

I thought these were too roomy in front. Had to return them. Might be a personal thing.

These fit great right out of the box. I tried these on along with the Lowe Cevedale. The lowes in my size and one size larger were both too narrow of a fit, so I sent them back. Another reviewer did not like the looks of this boot. They look great to me. I like the one piece leather construction which is similar to my Alicos. Too soon to comment on there durability.

Well made. Look to be durable as well. I've bought 2 other pairs of this brand and all have been very good quality. And they're NOT made in China!
Just trying to spread the wealth a little. :-)

Got the boots today but I'm sending them back for two reasons. They run big and they are UGLY. The boots in person are hideous. They remind me of the 90's style moon boots that Napoleon Dynamite wears. The boots are really wide, run large, and are heavy. They had great arch support and the sole inserts are fantastic. I just couldn't stand the look. Thank goodness for Sierra Trading Post -- they are awesome and have phenomenal customer support!

  • Question “Is there any way to ascertain the weight of insulation in these boots?”
Asked on 2/13/2014 2:24:02 PM by frankie from Idaho
    • Answer I have not referenced the description, but I don't think they are insulated. The ankle and the tongue have a typical amount of padding. The mid foot to toe region seem to be three layers, the leather outer layer, possibly a thin insulating layer?, then an equally thin inner layer (gore tex?). These three layers are not very thick at all, possibly 3/32" - 1/8" max. I would not consider this to be of insulating quality... None of the labels or tags that came with the boots say that they are insulated or advertise thinsulate etc....
      Regardless, I love them.
      Hope that helps

    • Answer I just checked out the manufacturers website. While they currently only carry a newer model of this boot (solid lite GT II) they do not say that they have any insulation. This would seem to support my evaluation. Furthermore, if you read sierras description for insulation type, it reads textile. Isn't textile a fancy way of saying fabric??? The boots are leather lined with two very thin layers.

    • Answer I couldn't tell you, but it might be available on the Haglofs website. What I can tell you is that they are warmer than my snow boots. At -7F my feet were freezing in my Salomon snow boots, but when I stuck these on, I was perfectly comfortable.

    • Answer Men's US 10 is equivalent to approximately a EU 44. Please feel free to visit our sizing guide found here: http://www.sierratradingpost.com/lp2/size-chart/
