I reviewed these earlier - had to return the first pair due to a flaw in the leather. They finally got my size back in stock so I took a shot and ordered another pair. WOW! I was so glad I did. The first time I wore these boots was an all day Christmas shopping trip. They were so comfortable. I wear...

I initially bought these in black and loved them so much I got the brown ones too. I wear a size 12 narrow in most shoes but the 11 fits perfectly as is the case in some western boot. They were comfortable out of the box, the leather is buttery soft , they are a perfect blend of western and fashion boot

The boots are stylishly made with a beautiful soft leather. I love the details around the ankle and top of the boot. The only thing off about this boot is the sizing. I wear a size 7 or 71/2 depending on the shoemaker. I chose the size 7 1/2 and these feel like a size 8. I'm going to reorder in a size 7 which would probably feel like a true 7 1/2. So, my recommendation is to buy a 1/2 size down.

Very cute boot. It is cut fairly narrow in the toe so I would not recommend if you have a wider foot. I ordered my normal shoe size. The length is right on and the width is just a hair slim on my medium foot. I ordered the black. The shaft is made of soft, somewhat thin leather that hugs the leg nicely. I am petite and the shaft hits at a very attractive place on the calf. The shaft just fit my athletic calves, and I was able to get skinny jeans on under the boot and they look great. The reason I could not give it a higher rating is that on the pair I received, the zipper on one boot catches. I keep trying them on at home to see is this "works itself out" but I am considering returning them because of it. For being such a nice boot overall, I wish it had a higher quality zipper to match the thoughtful detailing and quality material. The boots' styling is elegant and understated even though it has western detailing and I could imagine wearing it frequently, but I fear the zipper might not hold up. I like it so much I may exchange to see if the zipper problem is just a fluke I haven't heard other reviewers complaining so it may just be a problem with this pair. Still, the Melinda is a very attractive, terrifically priced boot and I strongly recommend it, even with said concern.
No, the strap is stitched in next to the zipper. Unless you are willing to cut the leather there, it is not removable.

The strap is sewn in on the side where the zipper is, and the metal stud is not a snap, but just a kind of rivet attachment, so the answer is no, unless you had a shoe repair store remove it permanently.

The strap is not removable and it's a false snap. The strap moves it is attached in the front and back on either side of the zipper.
