Tight they are, padded they are. Definitely size up from your typical pant size (I'm usually a Medium / size 8 and the larges offer excellent compression). I've taken these babies on a few 6-8 mile rides and they do the trick...will be testing out on a 33-miler this february.

These have the manufacturer's tag on the outside of the back seam, clearly intended to be covered by another layer. They are also thin, indicating they are a liner only. I am not sure how some people wear liners alone. They are well made, good length and moderate grip.

Purchased these for an eight day bike tour in France riding 30-50 miles per day. While I wanted comfort in the saddle, I was doing lots of sightseeing, cafe-hopping, church visiting and wanted to avoid the spandex look. I wore these shorts under loose hiking pants and they worked great. These shorts are meant to fit snuggly - when I had mine on you could not tell that I had biking shorts under my regular pants. I am 130 lbs, 5'4" and pear shaped. I typically wear a size 6 pant. The medium in these short worked well for me - snug, but if you're closer to a size 8 you may want to go with a Large.

I got these in hopes to wear regular capri leggings over them on the bike. I got them and loved the way they looked. I was hoping to get lots of wear out of them. I ordered an XL. I had ordered the XL in the Sugar capris and they fit ok. I got these and I couldn't even pull them up my thighs. The top part would have fit too. So I assume you can't have bigger thighs for these. Mine sure didn't fit in them. I am holding on to them though. Maybe when I lose the weight on our Two Tubbies Cyclling America tour I will fit in them one day.

These shorts have so much padding that when not on a bike, it looks like your wearing an adult diaper. so if padding is your priority, these would be great.

I liked the idea of a liner so I can wear normal shorts over them. These were much too tight, however. Order a size bigger.
