I've owned a Marmot Precip and a high-end Sierra Designs jacket. This jacket came at a much lower ticket price (with nice STP discounts), but the quality and features seem like a better value for the dollar. I have not tested the jacket in rain, so that may be a let down- if so I will revise my rati...

I bought 3 of these jackets for my nephews for Christmas. I took one out and the jacket is a nice weight...I can't confirm if it will hold up under heavy use, but they look nice....Christmas and following will tell....

For the price of this jacket, you can't beat the protection. I was worried about how breathable it was, and it was fine. Went through a pretty rough storm wearing this and didn't have any problems. The 2 side pockets zip, and there is also a inside zipper that fits my cell phone perfectly. The only issue I had is that the jacket can get pretty noisy, so If you in any situations where noise level is critical I would probably go with something else. For general uses and water protection, I'd recommend this jacket. Especially if you catch it at a good price.
According to our fit models this item is running true to size.

I would go with the L. I'm 5'10 and 185, fit well.

I am 5'9 160 lbs and purchased an L for myself, an M for my oldest son, and an S for my younger son. I tried on the M and it fits OK over a T-shirt. However, I plan to wear my L over a fleece sweater in colder weather so I prefer the extra room in the L. Over a T-shirt, the L is not too baggy in my opinion.

This jacket seems true to size. I'm 6'3" 195lb and the large jacket fit and worked great. I just completed 2 weeks of backpacking in Philmont Scout Reservation in New Mexico. It rained daily and the jacket kept my head and torso dry. I just wished my waterproof boots worked as well.
