I love this tent.

Nice tent but be aware that the width by the door is wider than the back of the tent which is 52 inches. It wouldn't fit a queen air mattress so I exchanged it for the Marmot Ajax 3. Would recommend the Marmot over this one partly because it didn't seem to have very good air flow. There is only one door and no window.

This Lightwedge is a few pounds heavier than the Skyledge, but worth the weight. A ton of room and the extra storage space above the door is really nice. A few things I would change are: wish it came with a footprint so I would not have to make one. Dropping some weight is pretty easy since the basic pegs are pretty heavy.

I bought this to backpack with my kids. It fits the 3 of us very well. It is crazy light. Set up is very simple with the fixed center piece. You cannot mix up the poles. My kids 9 and 11, set it up in 5 minutes. We have used it only about 12 night so far, on backpacking and rafting trips, but it has performed very well.

We bought this tent 2 seasons ago (for a fabulous price at STP) and just returned from another successful camping trip using the Lightwedge. We highly recommend it. For us, it comfortably held 2 adults (6'2" and 5'9") with an air mattress and it kept us comfortable and dry after days of pouring rain on our last trip. We find it well designed - easy to put up and take down. We enjoy using it in good weather without the rain fly so we can see the stars at night.

We were considering upgrading to a larger Mountain Hardwear tent but we like this one so much that we have put that off for now.

It did not come with the footprint, which we had to purchase separately, but we are glad we did. We highly recommend this product. Thanks STP!

  • Question “Does the fly have any vents for air during rain storms?”
Asked on 7/2/2014 4:58:49 AM by Nhighgears from Alaska
    • Answer No, the fly doesn't have vents. I don't know of any fly that has vents. The fly is meant to be pulled away from the tent body to allow reasonable airflow in hot weather and rain. It works quite well.

    • Answer The fly does not have any vents but if you stake it properly, there is a vestibule type area where you could potentially store shoes and perhaps a small pack before you enter the tent. We found that provided plenty of ventilation for us in rain. We used the tent for a recent camping trip and it rained. We were very dry and comfortable. Even my boyfriend thought so and he's 6'2"! We love this tent.

      Hope this helps!
