Great design, lightweight, roomy, stable in the hard wind of the ocean coast, waterproof even in a heavy hard blowing rain, and our packs out in the floorless vestibule stayed dry as well! Amazingly there was no wind in the tent during a storm even though the walls are made of mesh, and there was no noticeable condensation inside after that, only some slight dampness on the outside of a sleeping bag where it was pressed hard up against the lower fabric wall - a very well designed tent and rainfly indeed! The 2 full width gear lofts (one at either end) and the 8 corner pockets are great for keeping small gear easily accessible at night. Plenty of room for two and their boots and misc. gear; you could easily fit 3. After a forest critter chewed on our stuff out in the vestibule one night, we kept the packs inside with us after that; it makes things a bit more cozy but certainly do-able. 3 people and their packs could fit inside but only if they were well under 6' tall, but the vestibule is perfect for packs, even in a storm. The doors are easy enough to use; you just have to have the zippers at an easy to reach spot for quick entry and exit. I have an artificial knee and cannot kneel on it so I was concerned how well I'd do. Either laying on my back putting one leg out at a time, or doing a very low standing crouch - getting in and out was easy enough! Set up was easy; the instructions are clear and the design makes for an easy intuitive set up. By the second night one of us could set it up alone, but it is easier with two. At about 8 lbs. it was easy to carry and fit nicely in the compression straps on the side of my pack, or crosswise under the top flap.

I have never been disappointed with a Mountain Hardwear purchase and this was no exception. I own an REI Taj 3 (and love it) but purchased this tent because I needed a second one so I can take my wife and all 4 kids on a backpacking trip to the Jefferson Wilderness Area in the Willamette National Forest and the price was great. The instruction diagram is goofy, but the tent goes together easily and common sense will serve you well. I like the vents and the fact that the footprint is included. There is no gear loft, but the vestibules created by the rain fly compensate for it. The floor space is what you'd expect from a 3-man tent (tight for 3, plenty of room for 2). I will be taking it out this weekend for the first time so I can't attest to how it does in the field or in rain, but have no concerns based on the trial set-up we did at home. I do wish it came with straps on the carry bag to cinch it down to a tighter diameter (the REI Taj 3 does). Overall, pleased with the purchase. The overall pack size and weight is pretty good for this price point.

First of all I will say that my 4 star rating is based on the fact that I paid a little over a hundred dollars for this tent.
Also-I bought this tent for car camping and took it last weekend for two nights with my wife and was comfortable inside with a queen air matress but this would be a little snug for more than 2 people.
The GOOD-lightweight, very easy to set up, tons of interior pockets-A+contruction and attention to detail. Waterproofing is excellent, stayed bone dry during a rainstorm. Also, completely bugproof-netting is top notch and zippers close airtight.
The BAD-The doors are a nightmare-the only way in or out is to crawl on your hands and knees. This is true for most tents but this tent has the lowest doors I have ever seen. In addition, the shorter support poles are directly above the doors and can and will snag you when entering and exiting the tent. Also, this tent is top notch in terms of quality and construction but I have to say the material is very thin-you do need the footprint or a tarp-in additon I would not recommend this tent for extended backpacking as I could see it developing tears if set up on rough terrain, but for grass or car camping it is a great tent.

In closing, besides the door issue I would like to see the entire top of the tent made from the netting, the top white part is opaque so their can be no stargazing and I was supprised how stuffy it got in the tent (especially with the rainfly).
