The Brooks PureConnect fit great. It has a good arch support. I have to order up 1 size in all Brooks shoes.

Well, I used them twice and ordered another pair ( and probably should've ordered more), so that's saying something right there!
This is my first more minimalist type of running shoe. I hade the pure cadence 2 before this, which I still really like but now I mostly grab for the connects. I mainly run on a treadmill due to a lot of back problems but I feel like these sneakers help with form. They are light and slim with minimal material under the shoe so I find that I can get in a good rhythm without too much body movement. I saw mixed reviews about the cushion 'bubbles' on the bottom of the shoe. but I like them and it does seem like positionally they help with foot form. Going to sneakers with less heel toe drop has really helped my back. I run about 5-6 miles 4 times a week - limited by pain, which is really frustrating, but I honestly think I will be able to add a few more to the week with these sneakers and start running outside again

I'm still getting used to them, but I no longer have pain in my left hamstring. Very excited about that. Tho there is not a whole lot of room in the toe box, even in the larger size. The greatest was the customer service. The gal looked up reviews for me, thus leading to a whole size larger, and the shipping was instantaneous! Love Sierra Trading Post. Cute shoes. I would buy them again, but maybe in a wider size.

The minute I tried them on I did not want to take them off. This style seems to run half size too small. Ordered half size up & fits well. They are perfect for a student running around a lot.

  • Question “would a minimalist type shoe be ok for aerobic classes?”
Asked on 8/22/2014 9:49:45 AM by kfleck from colorado
    • Answer Depends in the class, and your experience with Minimalist shoes. This one us far more comfortable than most, but you will still experience calf muscle tension. Ease in to them, and get ready to be using your butt, core and thighs more! They're a workout in themselves, and give you much better posture.

    • Answer I have never done aerobics with these shoes and they feel very different than other running/athletic shoes. I think they will be OK. I have seen many people wear this particular shoes for different reasons. Some said it provides good arch support (agreed!) and some said they are very good walking shoes (maybe??). I think they will be OK.
Answered on 8/22/2014 10:09:12 AM by 40+ runner from Madison, WI
    • Answer Depends on how much bouncing your class does. I do everything in these shoes from walking, jogging, cycling, weight training, Zumba...so I'd say they may well be good for an aerobics class.
Answered on 8/22/2014 10:09:13 AM by Golfher from Calif
    • Answer Maybe. The shoe is designed for a specfic running style -- a forefoot, rather than heel, strike. Think of sprinting when you run on the ball of your foot. If this kind of weight and balance shift mimics aerobic exercise in a class, it would work.

    • Answer If you are going to be doing a lot of turning movements in a confined space, then I don't think they would be the best option for you. To me, they are more ideal for running/walking in a straight line. As comfortable as they are, and as much as I'd like to find a shoe this comfortable for working out, I wouldn't recommend going this route. Hope this helps :)

    • Answer I think it depends upon the type of support you feel you need for aerobic classes. I wear orthotics and need a full support shoe, but I would entertain using a minimalist shoe for class if I could. To me, minimalist shoes make me feel like I am nearly barefoot, and I would never do an aerobic class with bare feet.

    • Answer I use them for aerobic exercise and they work fine. They are the most comfortable sneakers I have owned. They have a great arch and zero heel lift. They are perfectly flat which is what I need for my problem feet.

    • Answer I would not recommend it. They are comfy to walk around in, great for treadmill running (I haven't taken them outside yet), but unless it was a fairly padded surface, I would go for a more shock absorbancy. But I could wear them around all the time. I LUV them.

    • Answer Absolutely! These sneakers provide great support. Aerobics is usually medium impact, with dynamic movements and these sneakers are built to withstand high impact running for hundreds of miles. These sneaks will do the job easily.
