I'm absolutely in love and run faster in these shoes. I bought 2 more for the closet! I usually wear 8.5 in about everything and bought 9. They have a little extra toe room but I'd rather have that than bumping toes. My arch feels like it's in the right place. My toes feel like they can splay out properly, too.

This is my first pair of Brooks so I can not answer your question. I wear a size 9 and sometimes I can wear narrow shoes. These shoes fit great as long as I wear thin socks. Now I know in the future to order 9.5 if I want to wear thick socks. Hope this helps.
