A great choice for neutral runners who want to shave weight but still want some cushioning. I've found these totally comfortable on road runs of less than 10 miles, though I haven't taken them further yet. The Nav band that goes across the instep might be a little snug for some people with high arch... Read More

Out of the box, these are great. They are relatively light compared to others in this category. I only run in them twice, but felt pretty good about their fit and feel; however, I don't see them holding up after a couple hundred miles. I've had other pairs that could go longer, but I think Brooks is going for a light comfy shoe over one that is long lasting.

I have run in the Brooks Ghost for about two years. I switch to these and I like them for everything under 8 to 10 miles. after that the elastic under the laces gets too tight and my toes start to go number. Love these shoes for 5k and 10k races. A lot of websites say to order a half size big, so I did. Do NOT do this. These were true to size for me. When I put on my normal size they felt too small but after the first 3 miles the loosen up and fit right ever after. If you have a disposition to heel strike these will work your calves and Achilles pretty bad.

I'd never tried the Brooks line before, so I was very surprised to slip my feet into heaven! Wow, they are "flat" in a minimalist way, but still have a wonderful cushioned footbed! love them!

It's a good shoe - really light weight and pretty durable for a minimalist type shoe. However, it takes a few runs for your feet and legs to get used to them if you've been using a traditional running shoe.

    • Answer This is my first pair of PureFlow. I wear size 10 and have several other pair of Brooks running shoes in size 10, including PureFlow 2. These shoes are a bit tight, so my next pair I may go 10 wide, or maybe even 10 1/2 wide.

    • Answer My foot seems to be between sizes in the PureFlow 2, MikeA. PureFlow 1 in Size 12 is a good fit for me, yet PureFlow 2 in the same size, while quite comfortable, seems a tad longer. When I slip on my son's PureFlow 2 in 11.5, they feel good, for casual wear and with thin socks (actually, best fit in the smaller size with the very thin Wigwam hiking sock liners). Given this experience, you should find sufficient room in PureFlow 2 Size 9 and may find the 9.5 too big.

With STP's generous return policy (free return shipping and free shipping on next order when return applied toward store credit), you could order both sizes and know for sure which size is best for you.

    • Answer I ran in the PureFlow 1's for almost nine months alternating with a more traditional running show (more cushion). I really liked them and then bought a pair of the PureFlow 2's. I ran four times in them and gave them away as they changed the lacing and made the show feel really uncomfortable to me. A friend of mine also ran in PureFlow 1's and he bought several extra pairs when they were available, he could not run in the PureFlow 2's either. But, the PureFlow 3's are on the market and they more/less changed the lacing back to the way it was and though I have not tried them, the reports are pretty positive in how they feel to the PureFlow 1's. BTW, I wear a size 13 and I wore the same size in both the first two models of the PureFlow. Best of luck and happy trails. Keep a steady pace and hope this helped you.
